Where as mortgage protection and term assurance policies are taken out over specific time periods, a Whole of Life plan is designed to be flexible enough to be used throughout your life. Cover levels can be increased or decreased as needs arise and new benefits can be added or removed as needed. The plan remains in force as long as the premiums are paid, however as life assurance becomes more expensive as we get older, there are regular premiums reviews on this type of policy and increases in premium may become necessary. While this plan is more expensive than either mortgage protection or term assurance, the added benefits and flexibility of the plan make this product a very attractive proposition.
